Photos that work best
The form takes 1–3 photos in JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 8 MB each, and a short description: the product's name on the first line, then a few details. Every shot in the video is made from these photos, so they matter more than anything you type.
- The product clearly visible — in focus, well lit and filling a good part of the photo.
- The product on its own — plain or lifestyle backgrounds both work, but keep other products and people out of the frame.
- Different angles — front, side, back or a close-up detail — give the shot plan something to cut between.
- No heavy text overlays, badges or collages — they end up in every shot along with the product.
- At least 1080 pixels wide or 1600 pixels tall — smaller photos are enlarged to fill the frame and look soft.
Any shape works. Each photo sits in the middle of a 9:16 frame over a blurred, darkened copy of itself, so landscape and square photos aren't cropped. Transparent PNGs get a white background.
What AI motion does
In a paid video, every shot before the end card starts from one of your photos, and an AI video model animates it with the motion from the shot plan. AI motion moves the camera and the scene around your real product: a slow push-in, an orbit or a tilt, and details such as a light sweep, steam, water drops or moving fabric.
The shot-plan writer is told never to add people, hands or other products, or any text or logos, and to keep your product exactly as photographed. Like any AI video, a clip can still get a detail wrong, so watch each video before you post it.
The free 10-second preview works differently. It uses your photos directly, with a slow zoom and no AI motion, so you can check the script, the voice and the captions before you spend credits. Paid videos add the AI motion.

Each video is an MP4 you download and can use in ads and posts. It's 9:16, ready for TikTok and for Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and YouTube Shorts; label it as AI-generated when you publish it. Every ProductToReel video also carries C2PA Content Credentials that mark it as AI-generated.
When to use a link instead
If the product has a page online, paste its link instead. A product page gives the script writer more to work with — the full description, the price, details such as materials and sizes, and often more photos — while the upload form takes up to 500 characters of description.
Photos are the better choice when the product isn't online yet, when your store blocks automated visitors, or when you have better photos than the page. See how product links work.
